It is my great pleasure to write this message as your President of the Western Thoracic Surgical Association. The organization has meant a great deal to me during my 20 years of membership and I am both humbled and most appreciative of the opportunity to serve and give back to the organization. More
Save the Date for the 46th Annual Meeting in Vail, Colorado, taking place June 24-27, 2020.
For over two decades, the Postgraduate Course at the Western Thoracic Surgical Association Annual Meeting benefited from the support of the Lyman A Brewer, III, Research and Education Fund of the White Memorial Charitable Foundation; and more recently, the PG Course received multi-year support from Dr. Thomas J. Fogarty. These endowments ended in 2016, at which time the WTSA Council sought new support to ensure the long-term viability of the Postgraduate Course as well as other educational activities offered at the Annual Meeting. To achieve this goal, the Council established the 21st Century Founders Fund.
The 45th Annual Meeting of the Western Thoracic Surgical Association was held at Squaw Creek at Lake Tahoe, in Olympic Valley, California, June 26-29, 2019. The meeting included oral presentation of 22 original papers, panel discussions, a postgraduate course, and 24 other papers presented during concurrent forums in the disciplines of adult cardiac, general thoracic, and congenital heart disease.
